The diagram below shows the recycling process of aluminium cans. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram describes the steps taken in the recycling process of
aluminium
cans
;a process which seems to be of vital importance in the UK with 74% of the Aluminium
cans
that are sold being recycled.
The process consists of seven steps, starting with the aluminium
cans
being taken to special containers to be separated from other types of refuse. After that, cans
are collected by special recycling trucks and then
taken to a facility where they are first cleaned and then
sorted. Next,
special machines are used to fragment the cans
and then
flatten them.
The metal is then
heated to a high enough temperature to allow the Aluminium
to melt. It is then
furled to a thickness between 2.5mm and 6.0mm, depending on what it is going to be used for. The Aluminium
cans
now are ready to be recycled into new packaging, namely; as drink containers. Finally
, the cans
are then
delivered to soft drinks manufacturers where they are sold to the public to be reused.Submitted by itchayatop31 on
