Dear Sir/ Madam I am writing
this
letter to provide my contribution that you are seeking from the readers for an article called “The
book
that influenced me most’. I would like to be a part of
this
article regarding a
book
that has had a great impact on my life. The
book
is about the motivation for readers and how to live in
this
world where there are a lot of people who are dishonest. To be more precise, it is written by a famous author, Kaung Thant, and it is called ‘Healthy Mind.
In other words
, it is a motivational
book
, especially for youngsters who have grown up without a father in order to be stronger in their lives
although
they do not receive care from their father. The reason why
this
book
had a great impact on me is that I am fatherless and I often struggle in my school.
This
book
mentions how to treat people around me and how to improve positive thinking.
In addition
, I realise how to control my mind when I am facing a problem and to solve it calmly. After reading
this
book
, my self-confidence improved and I become optimistic as I could learn how to forgive other people’s mistakes ,
however
, I am easily angry and I could not control my temper before. I am confident that
this
book
will change millions of lives as it has changed mine. I trust including my contribution in your article will help thousands of readers to overcome the problem. Yours faithfully Sandar Myint

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
