You have learned from a news article that a real estate company is going to build a shopping centre near your home. However, you think that the shopping centre should not be built there. Write a letter to the city counsellor. In your letter, say how you have learned about the plan explain how it is going to negatively affect the residential area where you live say what you think the city council should do about it.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I was disappointed when I saw the realtor's Mall construction proposal in today's newspaper which is going to come up close to our neighbourhood.
This
news is depressing because of the magnitude of negative consequences it will have. Hence
, we oppose this
building work.
Initially
, I did not take this
news seriously, but after seeing the map of the builder's plan for a shopping mall at the entrance of the location, I was concerned. A few of my neighbours have also
seen it on TV channels.
Undoubtedly, it would impact the local people in detrimental ways: the children's activity area would be affected by construction as the park is adjacent to the builder's site. On top of that the traffic flow will increase in the neighbourhood, as well as
construction material lying at the entrance of the street would be obstructive and harmful to local residents and kids.
I would request you as the authority to take prompt action to resolve this
problem by stopping this
ongoing work and prohibiting such
building activities close to any residential place.
Your initiatives in this
matter would be highly appreciated.
Yours sincerely,
