although

I have written many complaints to our local council, there was no efficient response unfortunately. There are several points you should discuss, first of all, the poor quality of our roads, and the immediate need to repair them.
Secondly
Linking Words
, regarding the lack of public transport, you should demand our officials to consider installing bus lanes.
Lastly
Linking Words
, you should emphasise the lack of playgrounds for kids. the conference will be held in City Hall, on November 14th, at 12h00, and it is expected that over 200 people will attend

event. Transport is included,
therefore

The Greeting

Depending on the style and aim of the letter, you will need to adapt your greeting.

Always start an informal letter in the ways:

  • Dear + name
  • Hi / Hello + name

‘Dear...’ is more appropriate, so stick with this.

For a formal letter there are two options for the greeting:

  • Use Dear Sir or Madam if you don’t know the name of the person you are writing to.
  • Use Dear + surname if you do know their name, e.g. Dear Mr Smith or Dear Mrs Jones.
