is an ongoing debate. Some people believe that children should begin learning a foreign
language
as early as possible
while
others argue that
language
instruction should be delayed until later in their education. Both sides have their advantages and disadvantages. On one hand, proponents of early
language
learning think that kids have an easier time learning a new
language
as children’s brains are still developing, and they are more receptive to new information.
Additionally
, they believe that starting at a young age helps
students
develop a better accent and achieve a higher level of fluency.
For instance
, in Myanmar, Chinese people who attended both Burmese schools and Chinese schools simultaneously in their childhoods are more proficient in both languages than their peers who learnt Chinese later.
