In many countries today, parents are able to choose to send their children to single-sex schools or co-educational schools. Some people think that children going to single-sex schools have disadvantages later in life. To what extend do you agree?

, particularly in the long run. In my view, parents should only choose an education system that will allow their
children
 to get exposed to different genders. On the one hand, the reason why a single-sex
school
 is available today is because it could facilitate an effective learning process at
school
. It is widely perceived that boys and girls have different capacities in studying,
such
 as boys tend to focus on physical and practical learning,
whereas
 girls usually concentrate more on verbal ability exercises. Through a one-sex system, the
school
 can exclusively design courses that could allow them to increase their grades.
On the other hand
, despite the potential benefits, I would argue that parents should send their
children
 to a mixed-gender
school
 for two reasons.
Firstly
, the students in a single-sex
school
 will face difficulties to integrate with the opposite sex as they only get used to communicating with the same gender.
This
 is harmful because years after graduation, these young people will get a job in the future, and they need to integrate with people regardless of gender.
Consequently
, it might negatively impact their working performance as they are unfamiliar with the circumstances.
