this

letter to request two weeks off from work. I am planning for a vacation with my family. My parents are coming to visit me next week from India. It has been so long since I spent some quality time with them. I am really looking forward to their arrival in Canada. It would be great if you can grant me two weeks off, starting next Monday, i.e. 1st June 2023 to resume back work by 14th June 2023. I can resume back to work by 15th June 2023. Regarding my tasks, they will be covered by Suriya, I have given him all the necessary information that he might need in my absence.

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
