You have not performed well in your half-yearly examinations due to which your parents are quite upset. Write a letter to your father assuring of better performance next time. In your letter, write: the reason for not performing well in the examination the changes you have brought in your daily schedule what your expectations are

Dear Dad, I hope you are doing well. I am glad to inform you that we recently won a local football tournament conducted by our University but
due to
this
I was unable to concentrate on my studies during the
last
session. Unfortunately, it impacted my result. Since I was confident in my exam preparation, I didn't focus much on subjects and kept practising for games but
this
impacted my half-yearly examinations result.
However
, I did well in the past and
this
is a lesson learnt for the future that exams should never be impacted
due to
any reasons. Now, I not only have a studies schedule but
also
spend time with my lecturers to ensure that no stone is left unturned for my final assessment. Teachers are impressed with my hard work and support me by all means because I am one of their favourite students. If my plan goes well, I would be able to cover my
last
mediocre performance in the final exams. I hope to share a good result soon that should make you happy. Best wishes, Vikas
