Your parents will be celebrating their 40th anniversary next month. You are planning a big celebration, but you are not sure how to make the occasion really memorable. Write to your best friend, Joan, who is a professional event planner. In your letter:
Dear Joan
I hope you are in radiant health. I'm writing
this
letter to seek some advice on celebrating the 40th wedding anniversary of my parents. I want to make this
celebration a memorable one in grand style
I want you to suggest a few ways where this
event
can be planned and organised. You being an event
planner had organised events like this
in past. Therefore
, please come up with some interesting ideas.
I like to inform you that I want to celebrate this
event
on a grand level.
Furthermore
, there will be family friends also
there along with
near and dear ones. The event
should be hosted in an open space like a garden . There will be kids also
in the age group of 6 to 12 . So they should also
get entertained.
Consequently
, there should be an event
for everyone who is present to celebrate the occasion. So that it will be a memorable event
.
looking forward to your early response .
Best wishes,

Structure your letter
A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:
- A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
- The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
- A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)
When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.
All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
