In many countries people have to pay for medical care, but some think that it should be a free service provided by the Government. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Some countries have free medical care
while
others have to pay for
this
service
. Many
people
argue that it should come without a price and it should be offered by Government. Personally, I think
this
a controversial issue to discuss and deserves a good debate as there are manyfold reasons.
However
, from where I stand, I partially agree with the given statement if medical care is given in the right conditions.
This
essay will present some arguments for it. First of all, good
healthcare
should be available to everyone for free. It is important that everyone has access to the same quality of care and treatment. Countries, where a state health system exists, provide free
healthcare
for every resident.
This
state
healthcare
is paid for by the Government using money from taxes collected by society.

the end of it, it is the
people
of the country that are paying for it and not the Government. It is known,
for example
, that in Portugal, the National Health
Service
provides free
healthcare
for every resident in the country.
On the other hand
, there are situations that private
healthcare
is preferable since private hospitals have shorter waiting lists for operations and appointments, which can benefit some patients that require faster treatments, especially for those with more severe diseases where “time is ticking”.
In addition
, it is understandable why many
people
prefer to pay for a personal
service
with more comfortable facilities.
For instance
, in ,Portugal some waiting lists go up to two years which can be late for some
people
. In conclusion,
this
is a delicate theme with diverse opinions.
However
, in my ,opinion there should be the power of choosing from free
healthcare
, where the individual has the obligation of paying their taxes in order to have the right of that
service
, or if it is preferable to have medical insurance
instead
.
To sum up
, I cannot tell with all certainty that I entirely agree with the statement above.
