The diagram demonstrates the floor plan of a public library in the past and present.
Overall
, there are several modifications that happened in 20 years,
this
place received considerable innovations in the interior. The purposes of all four rooms were slightly changed, tables and chairs in the centre of the hall were removed
while
certain other features
such
as an information desk and Self-service machines were installed. The western part of the public library 20 years ago looked quite different than now,
this
room
provided CDs, videos, and computer games for the library’s clients. Nowadays, places become wider and divided into two zones, the first one is directed toward holding Storytelling events,
while
the other belongs to Children’s fiction
books
. The space between the two rooms was the Adult
books
zone in the past,
however
, now
this
spot is transformed into A reference
books
zone and looks more narrow than before.
Whereas
there is a slight makeover that happened with the
room
in the lower left angle too, the reading
room
with newspapers and magazines was replaced by a Computer
room
.
Additionally
, the door was reinstalled on the opposite wall of the
room
. The western wing of the building has some innovations too, the area of Adult non-fiction
books
become less than before,
while
the Information desk and Self-service machines were placed on the rest of the space. The Enquiry desk was developed into a Café and the rounded shape of the
room
was reconstructed into an angular with the door. The least recognizable changes were touched the next
room
, which just was reconstructed from Children’s
books
spot to the Lecture hall.
