The maps below show a public park when it first opened in 1920 and the same park today
The purpose of
this
report is to provide data pertaining to the changes which took place in Grange Park between 1920 and 2023. The primary thrust of
this
map is that the site has undergone a considerable transition to include more facilities catering to different purposes. The net result of these developments is that the old-school park has been transformed into a modern one. The analysis will commence with the left half of the picture. Seats in
this
area and the stage for musicians were removed to make way for the amphitheatre for concerts. It should be noted that one of the two rose gardens on
this
side of the square remained untouched. The site still has two entrances similar to the original scheme. Regarding the fountain, the picture was contrasting, where a square rose garden with seats on all sides was constructed in its former location. Attention shall now be drawn to the right portion of the sketch. The only rose garden in
this
section was replaced by a coffee shop. As far as the pond for water plants was concerned, it was cleared for the construction of the children's play area. The case was similar for the glasshouse and the seats on
this
side of the map, as the water feature now stands in their stead. A final point of consideration is that the place now has an underground car park, and its entrance is located on the right side of the place.
