Most people accept that we now live in a globalized world but not everyone agrees that this is beneficial. To what extent is globalization a positive or negative development?

It is a common acknowledgement that we are living in a world where all nations or
countries
are considered to be a single living entity and simply,
this
is what we call globalization
in other words
. People have different opinions regarding
this
concept, somehow, it depends on personal understandings and views towards
this
phenomenon. To examine how it impacts our contemporary society, we need to conduct a thorough analysis of different viewpoints. As a matter of fact, globalization has impacted almost all the sectors in a country as a whole, resulting in distinct consequences for its people
as well as
other living entities generally. As far as positive developments are concerned, almost all
countries
are benefitted in all sectors
as a result
of globalization. When it comes to the economic sector, a country has a competitive advantage of exchanging its resources through foreign trade.
For example
, Sri Lanka has a competitive advantage to produce agricultural products and to export
while
importing motor vehicles from
countries
that have a competitive advantage to produce technical products.
Nevertheless
, there are negative complications as well, the introduction of harmful drugs, illegal drug traffic, labour smuggling, and many other wrong practices have been a threat to
countries
. Excessive usage of prolonged internet and other cyber-crimes have been a menace.
As a result
, governments spend a large proportion of their income to eradicate these practices.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
