In the contemporary era, it is often seen that elders are left all alone by themselves.
This
is because children and other family members are too busy building their own life that they do not have sufficient
time
in order to take
care
of old age near and dear ones. It is usually argued whether it is the government’s or the family members’ accountability to look after the elderly. In my view, it is the responsibility of the latter, and
this
essay will elucidate my assertions in the following paragraphs.
Well, parents sacrifice their whole life for their children by compromising on their wishes.
Moreover
, they spend most of their hard-earned money on the education and well-being of their wards.
However
, when the offspring grow up, they get so busy with their work that they do not find
time
for their guardians.
Further
, many of them move abroad or to another city in search of a better livelihood, thereby leaving their parents behind.
For instance
, many youngsters from all over India come to Mumbai as
this
city provides an ocean of opportunities not only for business but
also
for job seekers.
This
means that for a better lifestyle, these kids leave their homes. Having said that, since parents prioritise their heirs when they are young, I feel that it is a child’s duty to look after guardians when they grow old.
Also
, in general, a nation faces a lot of issues relating to poverty, unemployment, crime rate, etc. It is the accountability of the law-making bodies to look into these matters, which affect the entire
country
.
By contrast
, if the authorities take responsibility for the elderly,
then
their focus on these vital issues faced by the nation could be sidelined.
For example
, at the
time
when the government of China began a movement to take
care
of the old people in the
country
, they recorded a huge spike in the inflation rate. At that point in
time
, they realised that in case they do not concentrate on financial conditions,
then
they could become bankrupt.
Therefore
, in order to avoid issues at the
country
level, it is imperative for them to pay heed to only these problems.
To summarise, certainly, the number of old people who need to be taken
care
of is increasing every day. If these individuals had looked after their wards and other family members when they were younger, it is their accountability to
care
for them. The government of a
country
can only be responsible for the well-being of the entire nation by reducing health, economic, and educational challenges.
