It is important for people to take risks, both in their professional lives and their personal lives. Do you think the advantages of taking risks outweigh the disadvantages?
I am of the personal belief that the benefits of taking
risks
, both professionally and personally, far outweigh the disadvantages of playing it safe, and such
an opinion is largely based on the reasons elaborated below.
Basically, I believe that risk-taking leads to personal and professional growth. Famous entrepreneurs often cite risk-taking as a critical factor in building successful businesses. This
, I suppose, can be best exemplified by the fact that in research carried out by the University of Shahid Beheshti in the city of Tehran in 2007 on young people, it was seen that 75% of successful people attribute their success to stepping out of their comfort zone and taking calculated risks
. Furthermore
, it has been said that risk-taking fosters innovation and that innovation thrives in an environment where people are willing to take risks
and explore new possibilities. I cannot but agree with such
an opinion, as best illustrated by an article written in the Journal of World of Business, in which it was stated that throughout history a number of groundbreaking discoveries and inventions have been the result of individuals willing to take risks
and challenge conventional wisdom.
Finally
, I would like to conclude
by saying that risk-taking enables individuals to overcome challenges. In the face of adversity, risk-takers are more likely to find creative solutions and adapt to new circumstances. According to
Dr John Kersey of Harvard University, "80% of the achievements in science, technology, and the arts have come from individuals who dared to take risks
and push the boundaries of what was previously thought possible.
In conclusion, based on the aforementioned argument, I must reiterate that I believe that the advantages of taking risks
both personally and professionally far outweigh the disadvantages.Submitted by maryam.veiszadeh on
