You have heard that a developer plans to build a shopping centre near your home. Write a letter to the council. In your letter • say how you heard about the plan • explain how you feel about it • ask for more information about it
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing
this
letter to express my dissatisfaction with building a new shopping centre in suburban area 24.
During our annual community
get-together, I observed the news about this
plan and many opinions have been put forward by the community
. However
, most of them were against this
due to
its location. This
is because the proposed location is often used as a playground by children.
Even though the land belongs to the council, many public events are organized in this
place just not only for youngsters but also
for adults such
as musical events and community
gatherings as well. Hence
, if we lost this
space, the community
would become helpless and deprived of an area to be socialized. Therefore
, as soon as I heard the news I felt angry and so sad about my society.
There is not necessarily a requirement for a shopping complex in our area as there are many opportunities for purchasing. At the same time, I would like to ask for an update on the request of turning this
land into a playground which has been pending for a long time. Is this
proposal been converted into a shopping mall? Not a dire need of people. I believe the council would take sufficient actions to make it not become a controversial issue.
I hope this
information proves to be beneficial for the acknowledgement of local people’s opinions.
Yours faithfully,
John Smith.Submitted by drasikad on
