The line charts illustrate how much time is spent on housework in a single household and the alterations in the number of households owning vacuum cleaners, refrigerators and washing machines in the span of 99 years.

, as the years progress and more families gain access to gadgets that help them around the house, the amount of time required to finish said chores declines steadily. In the year 1920, refrigerators could not be found anywhere yet after just 20 years more than half of the population had access to it, and
this
increase in ownership
although
more moderate than before, still continued until the year 2000, when every house had at least one at their disposal. The rise of washing machines and vacuum cleaners started with the same intensity and
this
continued until 1940.
