Many people believe that social networking sites (such as Facebook) have a huge negative impact on both individuals and society. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is believed that social
media
can have a harmful effect on
people
and the public.
While
I agree that social networking sites can take advantage of society and
people
, I do think that they may influence our life in another way as well. Social
media
fulfil the need for knowledge among individuals and stimulate the economy in our society. With the growing number of social
media
users and creators, anyone can be a reporter and offer news to the public.
This
not only helps
people
gain information more quickly but
also
with more diversity. At the same time, the economy can be better owning to social
media
. Watching
people
share the goods they bought or the sea sightings they went to can awaken your desire ,making you buy more merchandise or have more travel plans.
On the other hand
, because of the overuse of social
media
people
’s health may get worse and there would be more crimes and chaos in society. Owing to the eye-catching videos, there are more and more children wearing glasses
due to
unlimited scrolling through social
media
.
Moreover
,
people
would rather lay on the couches playing on their phones than go outside and do some exercise.
Besides
, lawbreakers would commit crimes by using social
media
.
For example
: the Blue whale challenge, a game which is popular among teenagers, encourages young
people
to commit suicide or send their naked pictures to strangers online, spreads over the world through social
media
and causes many tragedies. In conclusion, I agree that social
media
would wreak havoc on the world rather than lead a better world.
Although
social
media
can take some advantage of individuals and communities, they are seen with produce more trouble. There should be some policy to restrain using of social
media
or things would only get worse.
