Although it is widely recognized that cars damage the environment, their manufacture and use continue to increase. Why is this the case? How could this increase be controlled?

It is evident that
while
cars
harm the environment, they are being produced more. In my opinion,
due to
today's fast-paced world
people
require
cars
to get to their destination as soon as possible to get things done and
this
can be controlled by imposing higher taxes on
vehicles
which produce harmful gasses and improving public
transport
. Nowadays because of industrialization, every company needs a lot of workforce to produce the required stuff.
Due to
the fact that most
people
live far from their workplace, they purchase
vehicles
in order to get to their work by that.
This
demand requires more supply, so the car factories manufacture more
vehicles
to resolve the problem of high demand for
cars
.
In addition
, companies need to gain more profit and ignore the environmental damages their
vehicles
can cause.
Thus
, they produce
cars
with low quality and high carbon emissions.
Moreover
,
people
who buy
cars
do not have adequate technical information about them and buy them without knowing the side effects. There are several ways to control
this
issue. From my point of view, governments can play an important role in preventing
this
rise.
Firstly
, they can impose higher taxes on fuel
vehicles
. In
this
way,
people
will think before they want to buy a new car and they may try alternative ways to get to their work
such
as using other means of
transport
.
Secondly
, By improving the public
transport
infrastructures governments can connect every edge of the city to other edges. So,
people
are more likely to use public
transport
.
For instance
, many European countries facilitated the use of public
transport
and they have connected every corner of their cities to the other corner, and statistics depict that
this
has led to a better environment and less polluted air. In conclusion,
although
the amount of
cars
being produced and utilized is increasing, governments are able to control
this
problem by imposing higher taxes on
vehicles
and improving their country's
transport
infrastructures in order to reduce environmental damage.

Support ideas with relevant, specific examples

Examples make your writing easier to understand by illustrating points more effectively.

Examples, if used properly, not only help you get higher marks for ‘Task Response’ but also for ‘Coherence’.

When giving examples it is best to put them after your main idea or topic sentence. They can be used in the middle of supporting sentences or they can be used to start a new sentence. There is no rule for where exactly to give examples in essays, logically they would come after your main idea/topic sentence or just after a supporting sentence.

Linking words for giving examples:

  • for example
  • for instance
  • to illustrate this
  • to give a clear example
  • such as
  • namely
  • to illustrate
  • take, for example
