1. WHAT MODES OF TRANSPORTATION ARE COMMONLY USED IN YOUR CITY? 2. WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE SOME OF THE ADVANTAGES OF BUS TRAVEL? 3. WHAT DO YOU THINK ARE SOME DRAWBACKS OF BUS TRAVEL?

Public transportation is one of the most feasible solutions for protecting the environment. It reduces the number of private cars
hence
the decrease of air polluting gases. Considering
this
, many governments have implemented initiatives that will encourage citizens to use more
buses
, trams,
metros
, etc. In my city, Izmir, the
metro
is the most commonly used transportation.
This
is because it is faster than other forms of travelling.
Although
it has some disadvantages compared to the
metro
,
buses
are
also
used very often by individuals living in Izmir.
Firstly
, travelling by
bus
has an advantage, undoubtedly, but in my mind, the disadvantages surpass it.
To begin
,with the only advantage, using
buses
is way more affordable than using the
metro
.
This
is because of the cost of the electricity that the
metro
is using.
Therefore
, people who would like to keep economic prefer moving around by
bus
.
On the other hand
,
bus
travel has various adverse effects on the planet;
moreover
, it is not fast as the
metro
. Since
buses
use petrol to function, many hazardous gases get dispersed into the air
while
metros
subsist on pure electricity.
In addition
to it, rails do not have any traffic which can cause delays, citizens can arrive at places quicker. In conclusion, we use mainly
metros
for travelling around in my city, Izmir, but
buses
take second place. The positive sides of
metro
travel most definitely outweigh the only ones of
bus
travel. Using
metros
will decrease air pollution and will get you where you need to be in a shorter time. Regarding the concerning speed of global warming, advancements to environmental-friendly transportation options should be implied.
