You are working for a company. You need to take some time off work and want to ask your manager about this. Write a letter to your manager. In your letter ● explain why you want to take time off work ● give details of the amount of time you need ● suggest how your work could be covered while you are away.

I hope
this
message finds you well. I am writing to request a week’s paid leave from June 14th to June 22nd. I am writing to request a week’s holiday
due to
my upcoming wedding. My husband and I have planned a honeymoon trip to Spain in June, taking advantage of the favourable weather.
However
, I understand
this
time is busy for business. I need a one-week leave, as previously mentioned. During
this
time, my husband and I have planned to explore various tourist attractions and enjoy the local cuisine of Spain. Given the 10-hour flight from Guangzhou, we aim to make the most of it and immerse ourselves in the city’s culture.
While
I am away, I remain accessible through the Internet and promptly address urgent issues. During my absence, I have arranged for Lily, who is actively involved in the current project, to take over my responsibilities. She possesses a strong understanding of my role and can provide updated information on project progress. I look forward to your reply and I thank you in advance for considering my request. Yours faithfully Regina Chen

Use a variety of complex and simple sentences

You should use complex sentences in your writing, but it does not mean that you should try to make all of our sentences complex.

‘Complex’ sentences are not actually very complex; they are just two or more simple sentences put together. Putting them together makes the essay more coherent and cohesive.

Examples:

I really want to study but I’m too tired.

I wore a warm coat because the weather was cold.

If action is not taken soon on climate change, global warming will get worse.
