The two maps illustrate the changes that took place in the village of Stokeford from 1930 to 2010. It is worth noticing that the river stoke, the bridge near the north boundary, the main street and the post office located in the middle of the maps maintained the same between 1930 and 2010. In 1930, there were two shops located beside the post office and a primary school was opposite to them. Ten houses were built around the facilities and a large house with a big garden on the south side of the primary school.
In addition
, there were large farmland on the west and east side of the main street.
However
, in 2010, all farmland was demolished and the main street was expanded
while
more houses were added along the streets. The old primary school was extended.
Furthermore
, the large house was extended and gave way to the retirement home. The garden area around it was reduced.
