International travel and tourism have become easier and more affordable. Is this a positive or a negative development? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience

T"Technological advancements play a vital role in making global travel and
tourism
more convenient and economical in recent times;
however
,
this
development could bring about both advantages and disadvantages. In my opinion, there are benefits and drawbacks to
this
phenomenon, and I will explain them in detail. On the one hand, it is evident that the influx of visitors results in economic boosts for countries around the world. To
further
elaborate, the spending of foreign tourists can significantly contribute to the local economy, as they typically require accommodation, hospitality, and transportation services.
This
can lead to an increased demand for employment.
For example
, in Ayutthaya, Thailand, there have been many more international

this
year compared to a decade ago.
Consequently
, new hostels and restaurants have opened to meet the demand from the
tourism
industry, generating job opportunities for local residents.
On the other hand
, I
also
believe that the high volume of
tourism
-related transportation is one of the main factors causing air and noise pollution.
This
is because transportation, particularly air travel and road usage, releases carbon dioxide and other pollutants that not only contribute to climate change but
also
pose a threat to people’s health.
Additionally
, unwanted noise from vehicles, especially horns used in tourist spots and nearby areas, can cause stress and unpleasantness for local people. Taking everything into consideration, I am convinced that there are both merits and demerits to the enhancement of international travel.
While
the benefits include economic progress, it can
also
exacerbate environmental issues. To strike a balance between promoting the
tourism
industry and addressing these problems, governments and business sectors should take serious action by implementing incentive programs for sustainable
tourism
