You have just read an article in an international travel magazine which contained some information about your town that is incorrect. Write a letter to the editor of the magazine. In your letter correct the information in the article explain why it is important for the magazine to give correct information suggest what the magazine should do about this situation

Dear Sir, I hope
this
letter finds you in good health and high spirits!
This
is to bring your kind attention to the mistakes that were present in your recently published Travel Magazine. You recently wrote an article about Visakhapatnam in your magazine - Britain Travel and it had two major mistakes.
This
kind of misinformation hampers the image of a city and must be corrected at the earliest.
Firstly
, The article mentioned that Visakhapatnam is a small town and Ramkrishna Beach is the only tourist spot available there. I would like to highlight that Visakhapatnam is not a town , but in fact, is the second largest city on the South Eastern Coast of India. It has people from all cultural backgrounds and is home to India's first coastal Steel Plant.
Additionally
,
this
city has a large amount of tourist attractions
such
as Kailash Giri, Ramkrishna Ashram, Shimhachalam Temple, etc.
This
, indeed, has made Vizag a highly popular tourist site for Indians. I would request you to kindly correct your article and republish the same acknowledging your error. The reason behind
this
is that it will drastically affect the tourism industry of
this
beautiful place and will in turn affect the income of many people who are employed in
this
industry.
Furthermore
, the reputation of the magazine will be affected if the information it publishes is not authentic. Eventually, it reduced its popularity.
Therefore
, I suggest you set up a review committee, which will look into the authenticity of the information before publishing it. I write
this
in the best interest of your organization. I have entrusted
this
matter to your kind attention and I trust you will do the needful. Yours Faithfully, Shreyashi

Structure your letter

A letter needs to be written using a proper format, including the following:

  • A greeting (Dear sir/madam, Dear John, Dear Mr. Smith)
  • The main body (consisting of paragraphs for each part of the letter)
  • A closing (Yours sincerely, Yours faithfully, Best wishes, Kind regards, Love)

When writing a letter as part of the IELTS General Training Writing Task 1, it is important to include the bullet points presented to you in the question.

All three bullet points need to be presented. And remember that some bullet points contain more than one element. So, make sure to watch for ‘and’ and plurals.
