what are the advantages and disadvantegs of leaving your country to live or study abroad?
Nowadays, migrating abroad has become rampant. For many people, going to other places offers greater opportunities for personal and professional growth.
However
, there are both pros and cons in deciding to do this
. In this
essay, I will discuss some of the reasons why people prefer to stay or study in other countries and some of the challenges to overcome.
Let's begin by looking at the advantages of becoming an overseas worker. One of the main positives is it broadens your horizons. What I mean by this
is that it allows you to explore different places and experience diverse cultures. This
can make you expand your knowledge and understanding of the different people worldwide. Secondly
,bigger chances of employment. For example
,many hospitals in other countries are hiring nurses. These nurses were compensated well and enjoyed their benefits to the full extent. In addition
, employees abroad can manage to have one or two more jobs at the same time since the working hours are not stressful and draining.
Turning to the other side of the argument, culture shock is one of the demerits. To be more precise, not all can adapt and adjust to her or his new environment. For instance
, the Philippines has only two seasons while
the other places have four seasons whereas
a Filipino is not used to dealing with winter and fall seasons. This
often leads to depression and unproductivity due to
weather unadaptability. Another issue is the language barrier. In other words
, differences in language and accent make communication difficult. This
process takes time and can be especially challenging if you are not used to using the same words.
All things considered, most of the population leave their own country to go to other country has their own will and purposes. You need to weigh up the pros of promoting independence, bigger salaries and more work exposure, and the cons of feeling isolated and miscommunication due to
differences in talking. Personally, I believe the benefits in terms of personal development and being financially stable eventually outweigh any negatives.Submitted by jtumacole10 on
