Damage to the environment is an inevitable consequence of worldwide improvements in the standard of living. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Nowadays, there is an increasing number of
improvements
both in urban and rural areas.
However
, the
improvements
in the standard of living bring inevitable damage to the environment. In fact, I firmly agree that these
improvements
caused negative effects on the environment for two reasons. The main reason why development has an inevitable consequence is destroying
animals
'
habitats
. In
this
modern era, many people cut down trees in order to develop urban life. They turn many forests into residential areas.
However
,
this
attitude affects the ecosystem. Many
animals
will lose their
habitats
and food sources.
For instance
, many tigers will go to residential areas to get food because they already lost their
habitats
, and they are starving
due to
deforestation. The residents will think that these
animals
attack them.
This
situation will put
animals
in danger situation as they can
also
be killed by the residents.
As a result
, many
animals
will die. The following reason is pollution. The increasing number of transportation makes the pollution increase drastically.
Moreover
, transportation
also
causes noise pollution as much congestion on the road.
This
improvement can cause health problems for citizens
such
as respiratory issues and stress. For illustration, the increasing number of private vehicles caused stress to many workers as they spend too much time commuting. By having the same bad situation every day, citizens can not give their best performance both at work and in society.
Consequently
, citizens can not improve their skills.
To sum up
,
improvements
cause some problems in society
such
as destroying
animals
'
habitats
and health issues for residents.
Thus
, I am strongly convinced that development has an inevitable effect on society.

Support ideas with relevant, specific examples

Examples make your writing easier to understand by illustrating points more effectively.

Examples, if used properly, not only help you get higher marks for ‘Task Response’ but also for ‘Coherence’.

When giving examples it is best to put them after your main idea or topic sentence. They can be used in the middle of supporting sentences or they can be used to start a new sentence. There is no rule for where exactly to give examples in essays, logically they would come after your main idea/topic sentence or just after a supporting sentence.

Linking words for giving examples:

  • for example
  • for instance
  • to illustrate this
  • to give a clear example
  • such as
  • namely
  • to illustrate
  • take, for example
