The diagram illustrates the number of shops in the situation of close and open in one country from 2011 to 2018.
The line graph illustrates the number of stores that were closed or were opened in a 7-year period, between 2011 and 2018.
Overall
, most of the time ,the number of shops in situation of closure was higher than those in situation of opening ,but, between 2014 and 2016, an opposite trend occurred, those being the years with the lowest rate of closure.
Firstly
, discussing the new shops, starting from its peak of around 8500 in 2011,
this
number has declined dramatically until 2012,becoming less than 4000.
Then
,
this
figure increased gradually until 2014 ,when it reached over 6000 new stores. From that point, fewer and fewer new shopping centres opened yearly, having only 3000 new ones in 2018.
Secondly
,in terms of closure, starting from less than 6500 closed centres in 2011,
this
figure has had a slight variation until 2014. Between 2014 and 2015 ,
this
category encountered its most dramatic decline , from 6500 to just over 500, continuing with a sharp increase between 2015 and 2016, the digits growing to more than 5000 again. Over the rest of the remaining period, there were not any major changes .
