Modern children are suffering from the diseases that were once considered to only be meant for adults. Obesity is a major disease prevalent among children. What are its causes, and what solutions can be offered?

Nowadays, the number of
children
suffering from obesity has dramatically increased. Poor diet and sedentary lifestyle are the main causes of
this
issue. Fortunately, there are solutions to solve
this
problem. There are several reasons for the increasing cases of overweight in
children
.
Firstly
, it is the overconsumption of unhealthy
foods
. The
kids
can eat large amounts of processed or fast
foods
, which are high in fat and sugar but low in calories.
For instance
, coke, burgers, and pizza have become regular dinners in many North American families. In many situations, they eat larger proportions than needed.
Secondly
, a sedentary lifestyle has been blamed for one of the major causes of overweight
children
. A young student can spend hours learning at school and hours watching television at home.
In addition
, the
kids
have too little physical activity because of online video games or phone addiction. There are some feasible solutions to deal with obesity. First and foremost,
children
should be encouraged to eat healthy
foods
.
For example
, parents need to make homecooked meals and prepare lunch to go for their
kids
. They
also
need to control what
foods
are allowed to eat. More importantly, if the
kids
were educated on a good diet, there would be fewer overweight cases in the future. The second solution would be to have more regular physical activity. Schools should have more sports as an extra-curriculum. Parents
also
play an important role in controlling the number of hours that the
kids
spend on the computer and television per day. In conclusion, being overweight has been threatening the community health of young people because of a myriad of reasons. Changing in daily food eating and more exercise can help to deal with
this
threat.
