The chart below shows the figures for imprisonment in

five countries between 1930 and 1980. Write a report for

a university, lecturer describing the information shown

below.
The graph presented the number of
imprisonment
in five
countries
between 1930 and 1980. The
countries
being observed were Great Britain, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and Canada. In general, all of the
countries
experienced a fluctuation in the figures for
imprisonment
between 1930 and 1980. Only in Great Britain, the figures consistently increased from year to year. Both Australia and New Zealand had a similar pattern where the number of imprisonments dropped significantly from 1980 to 1950 before rising steadily from 1960 to 1970. The only difference between the two
countries
happened in 1980 as the figures for
imprisonment
in Australia dropped to 50
while
it rose to 85 in New Zealand.
Furthermore
, the fluctuation
also
happened in the United States on a yearly basis and got to its highest
point
in 1980.
However
, Canada had an interesting pattern where there was a gradual decrease from 1930 to 1980, showing a different pattern compared to the other four
countries
. Across all of the five
countries
, the most fluctuation happened in the United States. It started at 100
imprisonment
in 1980 and increased to 130 in 1940. Interestingly, the number dropped the following year back to around 100.
However
, it went up again to around 110 before dropping to its lowest
point
at 90 in 1970. After hitting its lowest
point
, it increased significantly to its highest
point
at 130 in 1980.
