The maps show the center of a small town called islip as it is now, and plans for its developement

The first map depicts current land uses and street networks in the centre of Islip town and the second map illustrates an expansion project for its future.

Although

the current roads in the centre of Islip seem to be abandoned and unfinished, an efficient communication network has been suggested in the plan. Plus more intact fields will go under construction for various uses and functions. It is obvious that the existing communication network has not been completed yet.

Furthermore

, one main road crosses through a commercial region. In the expansion plan for the future, a Dual carriageway will be constructed in order to alleviate traffic congestion.

While

, the main road is predicted to be closed to traffic, dedicated to pedestrians merely. If the strategy is executed, the countryside will go under construction and northern shops will be replaced by various facilities

such

as bus stations, shopping centres, car parks and new housing areas. The southern part of Islip town centre as opposed to the Northern part will remain almost the same.
