Some people think everyone should be a vegetarian, because we do not need to eat meat to have a healthy diet. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

There are many with the opinion that meat does not provide a nutritious meal, so everybody should become a vegetarian
instead
. In
this
essay, I will explain the reasons why I strongly do not agree with
this
statement at all.
Firstly
, the primary reason why I disagree is because of the fact that meat is a major source of protein.
To begin
with, our body depends on breaking them down to function; without
this
process, we would be unable to make a single muscle movement. So chicken legs or beef steaks are fundamental for muscle growth and fitness.
While
there are other sources of protein
such
as lentils and chickpeas, they do not contain enough of it in comparison to animals. So, eating less meat will certainly affect the body (and
consequently
the health) in being weaker and poorer in strength.
Secondly
, the fact that consuming the flesh of animals makes a
diet
more balanced is another reason why I disagree. Unlike what is stated in the statement, a healthy balanced
diet
requires the intake of sweets, fat, vitamins, proteins and carbohydrates.
Although
vegetarian food may provide all the vitamins and nutrients, it does not provide much of the others. A steak
for example
contains both fat and protein
as well as
some sweet. When lunch and dinner are served with roasted potatoes or mushrooms, gravy and chicken breast,
that is
when the
diet
is truly balanced. Thereby, all elements are necessary to call that food intake healthy.
To conclude
, there are numerous reasons why I disagree with the claim that all should become vegetarian to have a healthy
diet
as opposed to consuming animals
as a result
of the aforementioned discussion. The reasons are that they are important in providing energy to the body and serving a balanced menu.
