The map below shows the changes that have taken place at the waterfront area of a town called Darwin between 2009 and 2014.
The diagrams describe how the seaside area of Darwin transformed between 2009 and 2014.
Overall
, the waterfront zone of this
town underwent a number of dramatic changes, the most important of which are the establishment of a harbour, the disappearance of industrial space and the expansion of accommodations catering for housing needs.
In the northwest, the school and convention centre stayed the same throughout 5 years. While
trees and a lake in the centre surrounded by a sidewalk still remained, a small area in which many factories were located was knocked down to make way for an oval swimming pool. Similarly
, a big industrial zone in the southwest was converted into a university building and a forest which was divided into two parts by a new footpath. The end point of this
path was the harbour with a direct view of the sea.
Three residential blocks were constructed in the centre of the maps, making this
area to become denser. Meanwhile, no changes were made to two large swimming pools and a fishing site in the northeast.Submitted by phuongdong.nguyentran on
