The pie chart below shows the frequency of U.S. Adults’ online purchasing habits in 2015, while the bar chart shows a further classification denoting online purchasing preferences.
The pie chart depicts how frequently adults in the USA do online shopping,
whereas
the bar chart contains information about their preferences while
doing it in 2015. Overall
, a fairly bigger number of people purchased from the Internet
less often because the majority of them chose to buy things in the physical store.
From the data, we can see that there are four types of online buyers
in the USA (Weekly, A few times a month, less often, Never). 37 % of them do online shopping rarely, while
less than a third choose to buy a few times monthly. Furthermore
, people who are also
known as weekly online purchasers accounted for less than a fifth. However
, citizens who never experienced internet
purchasing contributed by a fifth to the percentage.
In terms of preference, although
they are also
internet
buyers
, the USA citizens are much more likely to consume things from the local shop. Excluding the weekly shoppers, it can be explained for the other three types of buyers
. Of the weekly online buyers
, more than three-fifths chose to buy from the local store. In the rest of the category; in terms of online purchasing, all online shoppers accounted for more than a third,
while
monthly internet
buyers
contributed to more than two-fifths of and less frequent online shoppers accounted for nearly a fifth.Submitted by e.warikar on
