The maps underneath describes the changes that have taken place in and around Queen Mary Hospital since its building in 1960 till 2000
The maps compare the transformation that happened in Queen Mary Hospital's building in 1960, 1980, and 2000.
Overall
, the hospital building size had remained the same throughout the year,
however
, there were a lot of new constructions at the expense of a shopping mall, farmland, and half of the car park. From 1960 to 1980, it can be seen that the farmland in the bottom left had been replaced with a nursing school. The shopping mall that was located at the top left just behind the main road had
also
been demolished, which later became a cancer centre. To the right of the centre, there was a pharmacy that was adjoined to the hospital building. There was not any change made to the car park. From 1980 to 2000, the cancer centre was expanded and took over the nursing school building. The school had to be relocated to the right and reduced its size by half.
Hence
, the area of the car park was decreased.
Nonetheless
, the other areas
such
as the main road, pharmacy, and hospital were in the same condition and position.
