Task 2 Some people think that newspapers are the best way to get news. However, others people believe that they can get better through another media platform. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Perhaps, there is no topic of controversy in
this
contemporary society worth debating as the matter of
information
accessibility. Indeed, people's views differ greatly as to whether getting the latest

. In
this
essay, I shall discuss both views from which my opinion about
this
matter shall be formed. To start with, I have to concede that approaching the info from traditional newspapers brings about plausible merits. First of all,
this
could fulfil inhabitants' demands, especially senior citizens who are not using state-of-the-art tools. In an extensive range of nations, there are some readers who like to read
information
in magazines
although
they are living in the digital world.
This
also
possesses sustainable cultural value since reading is seen as a healthy habit and the connection of many individuals. The supporters of
this
notion are normally believers in the reliable source of
information
in the newspaper compared to other sources. Conventional newspapers are usually written or published by professional journalists and they are
also
checked clearly before publication. What I want to rebut,
however
, is that getting some announcement on
media
platforms should be thoroughly elucidated to be more plausible. First of foremost, online
news
channels bring a greater reading experience to readers
due to
the convenience and attraction of technological advancement.
For example
, with online reading apps, people can watch colourful photos, and attractive sound effects which increases their interest in getting the daily
news
and they can read anytime or anywhere.
Furthermore
, when citizens use social
media
platforms to read
information
, they do not use paper to produce newspapers, which contributes to protecting the environment and does not affect the environmental ecosystem. In sum, it is still a matter of deliberation as to whether to read traditional magazines or
news
platforms. Yet, I take preference in the idea that getting
information
on social
media
will be better.

Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
