The map below shows the changes that have taken palce at the waterfront area of a town calles Darwin between 2009 and 2014.
The two maps above illustrate the comparison of a waterfront
area
in the city of Darwin in 2009 and 2014. In general, the southern part where industries conducted business in 2009 was transformed into public facilities, such
as a building for a university and a harbour in the next 5 years. The city had an additional swimming pool
in 2014 and 3 more buildings for its residents.
As the map shows, in 2009 there was a lake surrounded by a convention centre on the north, a school on the west, and a swimming pool
on the east side. Next to it, there was a small industrial area
which was separated by a footpath
and 3 residential buildings from the larger one. The footpath
also
split 2 swimming pools on the east, two of these pools located beside the ocean.
Compared to 2014, the city had the same arrangement of a school, a convention centre, and a northern swimming pool
. However
, the small industrial area
was switched into an additional swimming pool
. Similarly
, the large industrial area
was also
replaced by a greenery area
, which was split by a footpath
. On its northern side was built a building for the university and 3 additional buildings for its residents. While
the southern part planted some trees. At the end
of this
footpath
which connected to the sea, there was a new harbour for ships pulling over.Submitted by www.adedj on
