The graph below shows UK air pollutants in millions of tons, from three different sources, between 1990 and 2005.
The line graph illustrates three different sources where
pollution
was generated in the UK and the general quantity produced, between 1990 and 2005.
Overall
, throughout the time the data has shown that
levels
of contamination in general terms had decreased.
However
, only transportation has not decreased the production of
pollution
. In the 90's
levels
of
pollution
reached the highest rates. But,
at the end
of
this
decade, the
levels
started to go down considerably.
Firstly
, to be more specific in 1990 the rates of total
pollution
were over 6 million tonnes, and
this
number was very high,
due to
the factories, which it was causing at least 90 % of the total contamination sources with more than 5 million tonnes. But, in 1993,
this
figure dropped sharply, reaching almost half of the
levels
, and continued to decline steadily until 2005.
In addition
, in 1990 transportation
as well as
contamination produced by houses were very low, they just reached 1 million tones of
pollution
rates. Even though, both of them have had some fluctuations through the chart both were very stable until 2005.
