increased in Italy and Portugal, whereas
they decreased in the United Kingdom and Sweden
during the given period
Looking at the information in more detail,in the United Kingdom, emissions
started at 11 tonnes
in 1967 and gradually declined to 9 tonnes
in 2007.
As for Sweden
, emissions
peaked at approximately 10.2 tonnes
in 1977, then
dropped to roughly 5.2 tonnes
in 2007.
In terms of Italy and Portugal, both countries exhibited a similar trend from 1967 to 1997. The emissions
of the former country were 4.1 tonnes
in 1967, steadily increasing to almost 8 tonnes
in 1997, and remaining at that level until 2007. The emissions
of the latter country were 1 tonne in 1967, then
grew to 5.2 tonnes
in 1997, and slightly rose to 5.3 tonnes
in 2007. In the same year, the emissions
in Portugal were similar to those in Sweden
