✨ Do you want to improve your IELTS writing?
Dear Max, How have you been doing? Long time no see! I want to share good news with you: I've
finally
been promoted to senior project manager! You know, how I always wanted
this
position. To celebrate that, I'm hosting a party
this
Saturday at my place. Will be glad if you could come! Probably, the best way to reach me is to take the A-59 bus: it goes through your town and stops in a 10-minute walk from me. From the bus stop, turn right, head past the supermarket, and the next residence is where I'm staying. Just come right it, because the bell has broken again. We will probably be partying till morning, so I suggest you crash at my place: I've got a guest bedroom just for these occasions. Hope to see you soon! All the best, Alex

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
