The table depicts how much money was spent on various goods in
Ireland
, Italy, Spain
, Sweden
and Turkey
in 2002.
It is noticeable that Turkey
was by far the most widespread nation in consumer
expenditure in comparison to the other countries. Notably, the percentage of consumer
spending on food/ drinks/ tobacco was higher than that on clothing/ footwear and leisure/ education.
As can be seen from the chart, the proportion of consumer
spending in Turkey
held the lion’s share, accounting for 32,14%, followed by 28,91% in Ireland
. The figures for Italy, Spain
and Sweden
were comparatively parallel, with 16,36%, 18,80% and 15,77% respectively. There was almost 9,00% of consumer
expenditure on clothing/ footwear in Italy, which was 3,6% lower than the statistics for Sweden
, while
Ireland
, Spain
, and Turkey
spent clothing/ footwear was approximately similar, with respective numbers being 6,43%, 6,51% and 6,63%
For leisure and education, 4,35% of consumer
spending came from Turkey
, hitting the highest point in the group, compared to the level of Ireland
, Italy and Sweden
, with 2,21%, 3,20%, and 3,22% in turn, whilst the lowest rate belonged to Spain
