The graph below shows the average monthly change in the prices of three metals during 2014.
The line graph illustrates the proportion of amounts placed on three metals, namely copper,
nickel
and
zinc
every four weeks in 2014.
Overall
, all the depicted metals worth experienced fluctuation throughout the year. It is
also
noticeable that
nickel
and
zinc
had a reverse result from their initial value
in contrast
to the end of the year. In January,
nickel
was the most expensive of all, at a rate of 6%.
However
, it dropped significantly until March when it plateaued at 1% in April, from there,
this
fall and rise pattern stayed and amounted to the lowest price of 1%.
On the contrary
, Starting as the least valued metal in January at 1%,
zinc
value experienced its first peak a month later at 3%. Notwithstanding, it
then
dropped substantially to around -1% in June and levelled off that range until October when it consistently grew and tripled by the end of the season. Regarding copper, copper
also
had erratic growth but maintained its middle rank as it was
initially
. To
further
illustrate, a 2% change in price was made in January, and
this
sank lower till May when it was just above -1%, in the following month it rose high to surpass
nickel
and
zinc
, but in the end, it was still on the second level accounting for a little above 1% change.
