The maps below show changes in the city of Nelson in recent times.
The diagram compares the significant changes in Nelson
City
between the years 2000 and the present.
Overall
, the principal change to the city
is the construction of more residential areas and various other business centres such
as markets, a restaurant, shopping centres, a university, and bars and clubs.
As the first map reveals, in 2000, the city
of Nelson was relatively basic. In the southern area, a university building was situated with trees on its right side, while
the northern region had a port, with a main road running from the west to the east. However
, in the eastern part, a train station was located on the northwestern side and opposite it was an old market.
Presently, the city
of Nelson has grown dramatically. The trees have been supplanted by a new shopping centre, and on the left side of the university, a hall of residence has been constructed. Connecting the school to the city
centre, a train line has been built, with a new train station right beside it. The city
centre has now become a place for bike rentals. On the other hand
, new shops have replaced the old market, and opposite the shops is a new covered market. The port area now has a restaurant on the bottom left and an entertainment site on the adjacent right. Notably, the main road has been reformed for pedestrian purposes only.Submitted by adebimpeanimawun on
