The bar chart illustrates how many
Japanese
travellers flew overseas during a period of ten years commencing from 1985 to 1995.
Besides
, the line graph shows the trend in the proportion of
Japanese
tourists who visited
Australia
over the same period.
Overall
, it is readily apparent that the rate of
Japanese
tourists who travelled abroad,
along with
Australia
's share of
Japanese
travellers increased significantly between 1985 and 1995.
To begin
with,
it is clear that
the number of
Japanese
tourists stood at about 5
million
in 1985, followed by a sudden increase to 11
million
after half a decade in 1990.
However
, there was a gradual decline in
this
amount by almost 1
million
in 1991. In the following years, the proportion of
Japanese
citizens visiting other nations significantly grew and peaked at moderately below 16
million
in 1995. Shifting to the second chart, a glance at the graph shows that
Australia
only received 2% of
Japanese
people in 1985.
This
percentage experienced a continual rise between 1985 and 1988. Despite a sudden fall in 1989, we can see that the percentage of travellers who chose
Australia
as a travel destination recovered from about 4% to just above 6% in 1994.
Although
,
at the end
of the period,
this
number slowly decreased to 6% in 1995.
