The chart below gives information about the production of grains, measured in million metric tons, from the years 2010 to 2015, with projections until 2030.
The table illustrates the amount of wheat, barley,
maize
and rice produced between 2010 and the present day, it
also
includes estimations till 2030. Units are measured in
million
metric
tons
.
Overall
, the
production
of all the grains grew from 2010 to the present day and is predicted to grow until 2030. The most significant changes can be observed in the
production
of barley
whereas
the manufacture of
maize
marginally increased. With regard to barley, it was the second most produced grain at 50
million
metric
tons
in 2010.
This
figure increased by 30
million
metric
tons
in 2020 and is projected to increase two-fold the original amount by the final year. Moving ahead, the
production
of wheat in 2010 was at 100
million
metric
tons
making it the most produced grain. In 2020, the
production
of wheat increased to 107
million
metric
tons
and it is estimated that
this
manufacture will rise to 110 metric
tons
by 2030. Analysing the graph
further
, the manufacture of
maize
and rice stood at 34 and 24.7
million
metric
tons
respectively and increased by 0.5
million
metric
tons
each in 2020. It is forecasted that the figures for
maize
will be 35
million
metric
tons
and for rice it is estimated to reach 25.5
million
metric
tons
in 2030.
