, as can be seen, the wheel of life of a moth is divided into 4 stages and it takes approximately more than half a year for an egg to reach adulthood.
The first phase begins when nits are laid on a milkweed and ends after around two weeks when the immature caterpillar is hatched. It is also
the start of the larval stage when the insect attaches itself to a leaf of weed.
The inception of the pupal period is when the larva transforms into a cocoon and stays in the development condition for about 10 days. Afterwards, it is metamorphosed into the matured moth and it comes out of its chrysalis and relocates to the south, which is the beginning of the adult stage. When nearly six months pass by, the fully developed Monarch butterfly migrates northward, where it finds a mate and lays eggs. And the cycle continues again.Submitted by nyannche on
