Good afternoon, dear sir/madam. My name is Anastassia, I'm from Israel, and I have enrolled in the "English as a Second Language"
course
at your college, which is scheduled to start on May 1. First of all, I believe, it would be a great
course
. I have heard a lot of positive feedback about your short courses.
Moreover
, some of my friends participated in your courses, and it was helpful for their careers. Unfortunately, I have some problems with my health, and I will have surgery two days before the
course
starts.
Furthermore
, I tried to move my surgery, but it was impossible. I don't want to reject it, so I am interested in starting the next
course
you will open. I hope it's possible.
Otherwise
, I want to get my money back. Thank you very much, best regards. Sincerely yours, Anastassia.

Word Count

IELTS says that you should write a minimum of 150 words in writing task 1. If you go under word count you will lose marks in task response.

A very long letter will not give you a higher band score.

Aim for between 160 to 190 words in writing task 1. This will ensure a concise letter and will be realistic in terms of time management. You have only 20 minutes to write the letter and you need around 5 minutes of planning time, so you will not be able to write a long letter in 15 minutes.
