The given graph depicts information about the alterations in the quantity and form of fast food popular among Australian adolescents in a period of 25 years, from 1975 to 2000. What is evident is that the trend had been ascending for two types of food and descending for one. In comparison with the more traditional form of fast food, which was fish and chips, pizza and hamburgers had gained more popularity in
this
period from the baseline of nearly 0.
Although
both patterns started increasing at the same time, hamburger consumption rose sharply from 1975 reaching the amount of more than 80 in 1985,
then
grew gradually to about 100 in 2000.
Moreover
, pizza illustrated a steady rise to the number of approximately 80 in 1995, and not changing after.
On the other hand
, fish and chips showed a fluctuating flow. Despite its remarkable level of consumption in the beginning, it started decreasing, falling to almost 80 in 1980,
then
experienced a slight growth in 1985, but
then
again returned to its descending trend dropping steadily to the amount of 40 in 2000.
To sum up
,
while
junk-food consumption patterns demonstrated a growing tendency for pizza and hamburgers,
this
inclination was downwards for fish and chips between 1975 and 2000.
