Marriages are bigger and more expansive nowadays than in the past. Do the advantages of this overweigh the disadvantages?

Weddings
today
are more extravagant and costly compared to those in earlier times.
While
there are some drawbacks,
such
as cost implications and emotional stress, I believe the main benefits,
for instance
, memorable experiences, are more substantial. •  On the one hand, a potential disadvantage of getting married, which is bigger and more expensive nowadays than in the past, may have cost implications,
today
's marriages are often more extravagant
due to
the pressure of social media and societal expectations.
However
,
this
can lead to significant financial strain and debt. Another perceived negative is emotional stress, so planning an elaborate wedding can be emotionally draining and stressful, potentially causing tensions among family members and detracting from the joy of the occasion. •
On the other hand
, a primary advantage of
weddings
today
tend to be larger and more extravagant compared to those in earlier times is the economic impact,
while
bigger
weddings
can be financially burdensome for the couple and their families, they
also
provide a boost to the local economy by creating jobs in the hospitality, event planning, and retail sectors. A
further
benefit is cultural significance, in some cultures, large
weddings
are a tradition and signify social status,
thus
playing an important role in cultural identity and continuity. • On balance, it is true that
weddings
today
are more extravagant and costly compared to those in earlier times seem disadvantageous under certain circumstances.
However
, in my view, its positive effects in terms of having memorable experiences and cultural significance override the disadvantages.
