task response
You give one clear idea: cars and public transport use oil or gas and can cause pollution. However, you need to discuss both views. Add a paragraph about simple lives, such as using less energy, buying less, and walking more. Then add a paragraph about how technology can help, such as clean energy, electric cars, and better waste systems. State your own view clearly at the end.
task response
Your example about transport is related to the topic, but it needs more detail. Explain how oil and gas harm the air, sea, and land. Use one or two real and clear examples. Do not say that people have no choice, because people can sometimes walk, cycle, share cars, or use public transport.
coherence and cohesion
Make a clear plan: start with a short introduction, write one paragraph for simple living, one paragraph for technology, and finish with your opinion. Each paragraph should have one main idea and an example.
coherence and cohesion
Use short sentences and clear link words: First, However, For example, As a result, and In conclusion. Avoid putting many ideas in one long sentence. This will make your meaning easier to follow.
coherence and cohesion
Check spelling and word choice. For example: developed, issues, transport, past, used to, which, public transport, addition, and pollution. Clear spelling will help the reader understand your ideas.
task response
You stay on the topic and give a relevant example about transport and pollution.
task response
You show a clear cause and result: using oil and gas can lead to more pollution.
coherence and cohesion
You try to connect ideas with phrases such as 'first of all', 'as a result', and 'in addition'.
Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
