task response
Your main view is clear: the media should show all kinds of news. However, the answer stops after the start of the first main part. Discuss both views fully: why some people want all news, why others want only good news, and why you agree with one view.
task response
Add clear reasons and real examples. For example, bad news can warn people about danger, while good news can give hope and show useful work in society. Then explain why the first point is more important in your view.
coherence and cohesion
The opening has a clear order: it gives both views and then your view. For a full essay, use one main idea in each body part. Start each part with a clear first sentence, explain it, and give an example.
coherence and cohesion
Use simple linking words to guide the reader: “On the one hand”, “On the other hand”, “For example”, “However”, and “In conclusion”. End with a short final part that repeats your view and main reason.
coherence and cohesion
Check basic spelling and word form in the first part. For example, write “There is no denying the fact”, “an important role”, “our lives”, “a commonly held belief”, “including”, and “consider”.
task response
You answer the question directly and give your own view in the opening.
coherence and cohesion
Your opening shows the two sides of the topic before you state your own idea, which is a good plan for this essay type.
Include an introduction and conclusion

A conclusion is essential for IELTS writing task 2. It is more important than most people realise. You will be penalised for missing a conclusion in your IELTS essay.

The easiest paragraph to write in an essay is the conclusion paragraph. This is because the paragraph mostly contains information that has already been presented in the essay – it is just the repetition of some information written in the introduction paragraph and supporting paragraphs.

The conclusion paragraph only has 3 sentences:

  • Summary
  • Restatement of thesis
  • Prediction or recommendation

Example:

To summarize, a robotic teacher does not have the necessary disciple to properly give instructions to students and actually works to retard the ability of a student to comprehend new lessons. Therefore, it is clear that the idea of running a classroom completely by a machine cannot be supported. After thorough analysis on this subject, it is predicted that the adverse effects of the debate over technology-driven teaching will always be greater than the positive effects, and because of this, classroom teachers will never be substituted for technology.

Start your conclusion with a linking phrase. Here are some examples:

  • In conclusion
  • To conclude
  • To summarize
  • Finally
  • In a nutshell
  • In general
